Destiny 2: the pricing policy applied to new dungeons is controversial

Pending its launch next February, the extension The Witch Queen de Destiny 2 caused a bit of a controversy. These eddies concern access to future in-game dungeons.

After a rocky launch and a rocky split with Activision, Destiny 2 charted its course under Bungie's sole leadership. The second opus has gone free-to-play but offers paid annual extensions and other seasonal passes. Thus, we are never safe from a (bad) surprise linked to this economic model. And that is precisely what happened.

Bungie Community Manager Chris Shannon answered a few questions on Reddit. For example, he was asked about how to access the dungeons that will arrive next year. The bad news is that these famous dungeons will only be included in the Deluxe Digital Edition of The Witch Queen expansion. Owners of the standard version and/or season passes will therefore be deprived of it.

Thus, it will be imperative to buy the upgrade to the Deluxe edition or buy the dungeons which will also be sold separately. Sold at €79,99, this version will include the expansion, the four seasons and two dungeons. A third will be available via the 30th Anniversary Pack for €24,99. In short, to enjoy the three dungeons, you will have to pay € 99,99 by purchasing the Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Deluxe + Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack bundle. A decision that goes badly among the players.
