While the single-player campaign of Halo Infinite opens its doors tomorrow to mark 20 years of the monumental franchise FPS initiated by Bungie, the studio will celebrate its 30th anniversary on the same day in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.
Destiny 2 players can already acquire a DLC pack for the occasion, sold at 24,99 euros. And, as rumors have it, this Anniversary event will come with weapons and gear that clearly reference the studio's history, including the franchise that propelled Bungie to the stars.
A History Marathon
Through a trailer, Bungie presents some of the new features that will accompany this celebration of a pivotal year in its history. At the top of the list we have a new dungeon dubbed Greed's Grip. This will offer, among other things, a new set of armor to the most miserly Guardians. In addition to a new dungeon, new activities that do not require the purchase of the Pack, with rewards at stake, will appear, under the name Challenges of Eternity.
An exotic heavy weapon familiar to fans from the first Destiny, named Gjallarhorn, will also be making a comeback and looks more fearsome than ever, especially when wielded by the whole party!
This Anniversary Pack is also aimed at older people who have known Bungie with Marathon, one of its first creations. It will indeed be possible to recover a set of ornaments bearing the colors and appearances of the venerable FPS.
To take advantage of the new dungeon, Gjallarhorn and new cosmetic elements, you will have to go through the acquisition of the Anniversary Pack.
It takes nostalgic weapons in Destiny 2
Highlight of the show for this Anniversary Pack, and widely teased for several weeks, weapons very inspired by the opuses of the Halo franchise developed by Bungie will obviously be in the game.
We have to start a new Exotic quest allowing you to get your hands on a pistol that is furiously reminiscent of the one wielded by Master Chief during his first steps on Halo in Combat Evolved.
We then have several weapons referring to the Power Sword of the Elites, the timeless combat rifle or the grenade launcher introduced in Halo: Reach.
Most of these weapons, which give a nice nod to the fascinating Halo universe originally created by Bungie, can be obtained for free. If all the elements included in this celebration of the 30 years of the studio or in the Anniversary Pack have not yet been fully detailed, there are only a few hours to wait before the Guardians have the heart net.
