Four years after its release and two years after leaving the fold of Activision Blizzard, Destiny 2 continues to attract many Guardians to Steam and is one of the biggest hits of 2021 on Valve's platform.

Despite an incredible journey, Bungie's MMO FPS continues its success story and ranks in the top 10 of the best sellers of the year on Steam, according to a chart returning to the 100 best-selling games on the platform in 2021.

The light always shines

If the last baby of the parents of the legendary Halo franchise had a complicated first two years on Battle.Net under the aegis of Activision Blizzard, Destiny 2 felt its wings growing by acquiring its independence and going free-to- play on Steam. According to Steam Charts, the title has indeed recorded this month more than 60 Guardians connected simultaneously, with an average for the year 000 hovering around 2021.

Destiny 2 is thus in 7th place of the best-selling games of the whole year 2021 on Steam. A great success both financially and in terms of esteem for Bungie, despite recent controversies over the pricing policy applied to new dungeons. The title also recently hosted a crossover event on the sidelines of the release of Halo Infinite, to look back on Bungie's rich history in FPS.

Destiny 2 does not intend to rest on its laurels, however, since the extension The Witch Queen is expected in February 2022, with many new features on the program. Enough to motivate the Guardians to resume the fight with renewed vigor, and why not to maintain the game's position among the best-selling games on Steam next year.
