Destiny 2: Beyond Light โ€“ Cross-Play, Cross Save, Cross-Gen

Bungie's Destiny franchise has been free for a year now, and with the additional arrival of this one on Xbox/PC Game Pass, Destiny has never looked better. Now everyone is gearing up for the fifth expansion, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, where it takes players to the freezing moon of Jupiter called Europa, and here players will have to plunge into darkness, but in doing so can- they still live in the light?

Destiny 2: Beyond Light Crossplay

Destiny 2: Beyond Light will support cross-play at launch; however, this entirely depends on the platform you are using. Xbox players will only be able to play with other Xbox players, regardless of generation, so Xbox One can only match with Xbox Series X users | S. Unfortunately, Xbox cannot bundle with PlayStation players.

It's the same with PC; PC gamers will only be able to play with others on that platform, but regardless of which client they are using to play.

Destiny 2: Cross-save Beyond Light

Cross-save is still a big thing in Destiny 2: Beyond Light; As long as Cross Save is enabled, you can play with your saved progress on any platform. If you haven't enabled Cross Save, simply head over to Bungie's official Cross Save page and click Get Started to begin the process.

First, you need to authenticate the platforms you're using, so PSN, XBL, Steam, Stadia, Twitch, and Battle.Net. Next, select your active characters that you want to share across all of those multiple platforms, and when/if all goes well, click on review setup, and you're done!

You can now access saved character progress no matter what platform you play on. If you have the DLC tied to that character's main account, let's say you have the Deluxe version on Steam that has all four season passes, so when you play on another platform with that character, all the DLC comes with it . This means that you only have to re-purchase the standard version of the game, not all DLC.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light cross-gen

Destiny 2: Beyond Light will support cross-generation play, so PlayStation 4 players can play with PlayStation 5 players, though it must remain within the same console family. However, Bungie is trying to achieve full cross-generational play by fall 2021, so all players, no matter what platform they're playing on, can all play together.

Beyond Light also gets next-gen enhancements, so users can play at 4K 60 FPS when it launches, plus free upgrades to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S if you purchased an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version.
