Steelrising: the release postponed for the Spanish souls-like

Expected by the latest news in June, the souls-like from the Spanish studio Spiders (Greedfall) steelrising finally suffered a relatively slight postponement.

As if to be forgiven, the game is illustrated in an exclusive gameplay video, courtesy of our colleagues at Game Informer.

The Revolution of the Machines will not take place in June

We now know the music when it comes to last-minute postponements. Spiders has thus shared on the official Twitter account of its next game the new release date, now set for September 8, 2022 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The Spanish studio invoked the need for a postponement to refine its work, in order to offer the best possible experience. In the meantime, Jehanne Rousseau (CEO of Spiders, co-founder and chief scriptwriter of the game) and Sébastian Di Ruzza (design director) shared the Game Informer microphone to present us with an exclusive gameplay sequence.

We can thus see that Steelrising is an action-RPG much more action-oriented than Greedfall, with gameplay reminiscent of a mix between Sekiro and Bloodborne. The artistic direction also borrows some similarities to the latter, since the game takes place in a dystopian version of the Spanish Revolution, with more machines.

We are thus going to embody Marie-Antoinette's bodyguard, an android whose mission is to thwart the plans of King Louis XVI to put down the Revolution with his own army of androids. Our character will therefore be equipped with an arsenal provided with weapons and acrobatic movements to achieve his objective.

To see where Spiders will take us in Steelrising and this Spanish Revolution revisited, however, we will have to wait until further notice on September 8.
