The path traveled by Final Fantasy XIV over the past eight years commands respect. After a catastrophic launch and then an exemplary resurrection, Square Enix's MMO has seen its community grow over the years... And the future looks bright!

With the launch of its Endwalker expansion last December, Final Fantasy XIV met with unprecedented success. So much so that the game had been withdrawn from sale in order to counter the massive influx of players on the servers. A craze that will quite logically push Square Enix to support its golden egg hen over the next few years.

In the latest video from the Letter from the Producer series, the developers talked about the future updates that will be rolling out to Final Fantasy XIV. Patch 7.0, which could land at the same time as the next expansion, was at the heart of the discussions. This patch is not insignificant since it will bring visual changes to the game. The minimum configuration required on PC will only be significantly increased since the MMO will also have to run smoothly on PS4.

The changes are shown in the video below (from 1:55).
