Marcus Letho, co-creator of the legendary franchise FPS Halo, joins Electronic Arts as director of a new studio.

Based in Seattle, it will be devoted to the production of first-person games. A news that Marcus Letho had hinted at by announcing some time ago that the future trajectory in his career was going to “divide the fans” of his works.

Marcus Letho becomes the Master Chief of a new studio

Best known for his pivotal role in creating the legendary Halo franchise, Marcus Letho then went it alone when Bungie passed the torch to 343 Industries. He recently participated in the creation of the shooter Disintegration with his studio V1 Interactive, which unfortunately closed following the lack of success of the game.

If Marcus Letho has never really forgotten his roots, as evidenced by the recreations of Halo's first opus under the Unreal Engine 4, he announced on his Twitter account that he was ready for a new adventure.

And not just any, since he joins the publisher Electronic Arts to lead a newly created studio responsible for producing first-person games. There is no doubt that his experience in this area will be beneficial for the young studio, whose name has not yet been disclosed. Hoping, however, that it does not meet the same fate as V1 Interactive.
