Against all odds (that's wrong), Sifu turns out to be too demanding for many players...

An update will arrive soon to bring various accessibility options, with obviously an Easy mode.

Many players frustrated with the Sifu experience

A few days ago now, the Parisian studio Sloclap launched the long-awaited Sifu, a kung fu game as attractive as it is demanding. However, unlike a From Software game, it's not really the difficulty that has been singled out here in certain tests, but rather a concern for general balancing and an unfairly punishing game, which can quickly become frustrating.

And even though some readers hastened to curse some testers who had the audacity to highlight this "defect", it must be admitted that Sifu does indeed seem...too demanding.

Based on information related to Trophies, PushSquare was able to confirm that while 97% of players passed the prologue, 82% managed to pass the first level. This spoils very quickly since only 34% managed to extinguish the boss of the second level, and the figure then drops to 17% for the next level, then 11%. Only 6% of players beat the final boss.

Recently, Sloclap co-founder Pierre Tarno confirmed that accessibility options will be implemented via an upcoming update. The latter would include difficulty modes, with the possibility of opting for a Hard mode, but also an Easy mode, to allow everyone to fully appreciate this Sifu full of qualities, but with a clearly unbalanced progression. A similar update presumably to that of Metroid Dread.

It remains to be seen now if it was the grumbling of many players frustrated at not being able to enjoy the experience that prompted Sloclap to think of an Easy mode, or if the studio simply realized the level of requirement too high of his game, coupled with an unbalanced and far too punishing experience.

For the little information, you should know that Sifu was even more demanding and unbalanced than he is today. Indeed, the first patch deployed before the launch of the game (during the review phase, therefore) had already corrected various concerns related to too high a requirement, this even before any frustration on the part of the players. You know everything.
