Last week, Housemarque announced, through the voice of the game's director, Harry Krueger, that return was going to move to version 2.0 and thus acquire a few features, including Photo mode and the long-awaited “cycle suspension”, which allows players to pause a cycle to resume it later.

Harry Krueger spoke about the arrival of this feature and explained that it was created to "keep the roguelike spirit and the high risk engagement intact", while preserving the quality of the game for the players. players who enjoy shorter games. But, since then, players have managed to use this feature to their advantage.

The suspension that becomes safeguard

Initially, this feature was introduced to allow players to benefit from a single-use save state during their various tries. This addition, which is one of the additions of version 2.0 of the game, is therefore not a real save option.

Note that this cannot be used during boss fights, cutscenes, sequences in first person view or even during difficult combat phases. However, players have managed to exploit a flaw in this new feature to make it a full-fledged save point.

Admittedly, this is a manipulation of one of the game's features, but some see it as a boon to get through the difficult ordeal imagined by Housemarque. Video game journalist Joseph Yaden, who used this technique to progress in PS5 exclusivity, explained the process.

Once Cycle Suspend was used, the latter uploaded the game data to PlayStation's cloud servers. From there, he was then able to download his save from the Cloud and thus restart his game when he had suspended it: quite simply!
