This week, Fallout 4 celebrates (already) its sixth anniversary… After the disappointment Fallout 76, many fans are eagerly awaiting the return to hard-core soloing! Alas, the real fifth installment in the saga is not yet up to date.

An emblematic figure of Bethesda Game Studios, Todd Howard has been quite talkative lately. Indeed, during an interview with the IGN site, the main interested party mentioned the case of Starfield and more briefly of The Elder Scrolls VI (without telling us anything about it). However, the name of a third game was also mentioned during the interview… Yes, it is Fallout 5.

Difficult to pass the fifth

Thus, Howard reaffirmed that the studio's efforts are now allocated to Starfield. The sixth installment of The Elder Scrolls franchise will come right after. Additionally, the "sequel" to Skyrim is only in the early stages of production and is not expected to be released for several years. As for Fallout 5, the Bethesda Game Studio teams already have "a little idea" of what they want to do with this game.

More interestingly, IGN asked if another studio owned by Xbox (since Bethesda Softworks was acquired by Microsoft) could take on the creation of Fallout 5. Todd Howard did not completely reject this hypothesis, but also recalled that Fallout is part of his studio's DNA and therefore this solution is unlikely. To be continued…
