Last July, Ubisoft confirmed the existence ofAssassin's creed infinity after a big leak in the press. But, at the moment, we have little information on this game which could well upset the license codes.

Thus, the Spanish publisher wanted to clarify various points, and in particular about the economic model of its title.

A series in search of identity?

This summer, Assassin's Creed Infinity made the headlines while throwing vagueness on the future of the saga. According to the first rumors, the game must opt for a format approaching a scalable platform like GTA Online or Fortnite. A kind of support that would connect several episodes with different aesthetics and historical context. In short, it could be a question of a hub in which players would also have the opportunity to meet.

Inevitably, these indiscretions quickly led to concerns among fans… Indeed, like Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed Infinity would also be heading towards a live service model. It was enough to see the rumors of a free-to-play Assassin's Creed (and therefore necessarily less qualitative) fuse on the Internet. Ubisoft came out of its silence to reassure its community.

Not free, but different nonetheless

So Yves Guillemot, the boss of the Spanish publisher, very clearly explained that this Assassin's Creed Infinity would not be free-to-play.

“It will not be free-to-play and this game will have a lot of narrative elements. It will be a very innovative game, but with content close to previous Assassin's Creed. All the elements that players enjoy will be there from the start. It will be a huge game […]”, he explains.

In the end, the experience delivered by Assassin's Creed Infinity might not drastically contrast with the rest of the series. On the other hand, Guillemot ends by adding that the game is only in the early stages of its development at Ubisoft Quebec and Montreal. So don't expect to see the first images in the near future.
