The teams based in the Ubisoft Quebec and Montreal studios are at work on this big project. But for now, the Spanish publisher is not yet ready to communicate concrete details.
The future of the saga Assassin's Creed could take a rather unexpected turn. Indeed, rumors suggest the creation of a kind of live service game that could be used on all future episodes.

An even more connected Assassin's Creed
Launched in 2007, Ubisoft's franchise has changed shape over the years. The last three major opuses have, for example, turned to an RPG dimension which already seems to be showing its limits. Thus, fans of the license were entitled to hope for a small revolution once the latest Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLCs were released. But obviously, the Spanish publisher could surprise its community with a completely different concept.
We owe these first indiscretions to Jason Schreier, journalist at Bloomberg. He claims that Ubisoft is currently working on a certain Assassin's Creed Infinity (which could be a codename). However, it would not be a traditional game but a kind of evolving platform (a la Fortnite or GTA Online) that would connect several games that will not necessarily share the same aesthetic or the same historical context.
A very ambitious project
Thus, Assassin's Creed Infinity would be a "game" so colossal that it would mobilize all the teams of Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec. But given the live service nature of the title, the release date would be a long way off. Still according to Bloomberg, this episode would be planned for 2024 at best. instant).
Finally, Jason Schreier points out that accusations of harassment at Ubisoft last year may have had an impact on Assassin's Creed Infinity.
