you returned The Witcher 3 and its extensions in all directions, but you still want more? That's good: a team of modders signs "A Night to Remember", a brand new quest for our witcher which follows the plot of Blood & Wine, the second expansion of the famous RPG.

But perhaps more than for the pleasure of plunging back into the intrigues of the world imagined by Andrzej Sapkowski, it is for its technical prowess that this new quest is worth the detour.

AI-dubbed dialogues

Unable to afford the services of Doug Cockle and the rest of the cast hired by CD Projekt RED for this new quest, the modders opted for a very… daring solution.

Geralt's new lines of dialogue are indeed delivered in the same tone as if the American actor had spoken them, but it is in fact an artificial intelligence which took care of it (some suppose that the very monotonous voice of the heroes would have made it easier for him).

Enabled by CyberVoice, a very sophisticated voice synthesis tool (and competitor of Tacotron, already used by certain Skyrim mods), this dubbing is perfectly disturbingly realistic. Even if, let's face it, this may cause minor problems for the creators of this mod in terms of rights. After all, it amounts to replicating an actor's performance without his permission… and above all without compensation.

It is unclear how CD Projekt RED and its lawyers will react to the news. So we may encourage you to hurry up and download this new quest if you want to extend the adventure of The Witcher 3.
