On the occasion of the thirty-fifth anniversary of the franchise final Fantasy, Square Enix wanted to bring a nice gift to the fans. Unfortunately, it is not (yet) about Final Fantasy XVI, but from a punchy spin-off that puts the spotlight on action, as shown the latest trailer, to the detriment of the turn-based aspect of the first games.

Rest assured, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin intends to keep what makes the salt of the emblematic Japanese license, in particular the system of professions (or jobs) which allows you to specialize your character.

Exclusive jobs for this spin-off!

In more than 35 years of video games, Final Fantasy will have made us discover specializations, but we have to believe that for Square Enix, there are never enough of them. Two months after offering us interesting information on the universe and character classes, the editor reveals three new jobs.

Recently, it was the game director, Daisuke Inoue, who took the floor to share this surprise with us. If Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin takes up most of the classes encountered throughout all the games – we are talking about 27 specialties available within this spin-off in collaboration with Team Ninja –, there is also novelty.

New in combat

Thus, you will be able to opt for three new combat styles: Breaker, Void Knight and Tyrant. The first of them relies above all on his immeasurable strength to defeat enemies in one blow thanks to the Zantetsuken, the sword used by the summoning Odin in the Final Fantasy license. The great power of this weapon requires hard work to fully master it.

If you prefer magic, the Knight of the Void could well please you thanks to its parry and magic riposte system, especially since it can allow you to restore some mana points! For those who like to land the first blow, the Tyrant will be the ideal class since it allows you to confer elemental effects on your weapon and inflict vulnerabilities: the perfect way to adapt to any situation!
