Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin returns with a small cinematic

34 years ago almost to the day, the very first final Fantasy landed on NES. It was then the beginnings of a long adventure which should not stop anytime soon. And the epic will continue in 2022 with a rather special opus.

It's next March that Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will land on consoles and PC. There is no question of a simple spin-off since this episode will recount the events of the first game in an alternative way. This time we will be faced with an action-RPG with a rather demanding gameplay slightly inspired by FromSoftware's Souls.

A cutscene that struggles to convince?

To celebrate Final Fantasy's anniversary, Square Enix has uploaded a video of the episode which will arrive next year. This short extract depicts the North Bridge scene well known to lovers of the saga. The cinematic unfortunately does not tell us much and rather highlights the rather dated graphics of the title. Indeed, it is very difficult to ignore the ultra pronounced aliasing on the sets.

However, Square Enix wants to reassure us by stating that the latest demo has made adjustments and added additional elements to the game. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be released on March 18, 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (via Epic Games Store).
