As the war in Ukraine continues to rage, the studio behind the FPS highly anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 seems to want to move its premises to complete its development.

A radioactive glimmer of hope is therefore on the horizon. GSC Game World, based as a reminder in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, announced in early March the outright cessation of production.

The STALKERs leave the Zone

It's an understatement to say that the development of STALKER 2 is as post-apocalyptic as the universe it depicts. GSC Game World had already postponed its next game to December 8, 2022 and had very briefly toyed with the idea of integrating NFTs into it, before retracting in the face of fan anger. The war in Ukraine was the hardest blow of all for the Ukrainian video game industry.

According to Czech journalist Pavel Dobrovsky, GSC intends to bring its employees to safety by leaving Ukraine to move its premises to Prague to complete its highly anticipated game. A report corroborated by the Czech site Vortex, which confirms that the Ukrainian studio has applied for a permit to move its premises to the capital of the Czech Republic.

Given the extremely tense situation in Ukraine, GSC has yet to officially confirm the news, but will no doubt do so once it is safe. Still, recent events may impact the release of STALKER 2 announced until further notice on December 8 on PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Above all, we hope that this terrible conflict will soon find a peaceful resolution and that the people affected by this war will be able to find their way back to safety.
