After Ubisoft and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, it's the turn of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl to promote the NFT. Indeed, the famous non-fungible tokens will revolve around the game signed GSC Game World.
And thanks to this initiative, players will even be able to be part of the post-apocalyptic universe of this second episode.
Not yet launched, but already decried?
Last week, Ubisoft opened the floodgates by announcing the arrival of NFTs in video games. Players of Ghost Recon Breakpoint on PC can now own more or less unique items and can resell them later for real money. Today is another highly anticipated title that is giving in to the non-fungible token fad.
Thus, the game in question is none other than STALKER 2. The GSC Game World studio has just announced that the STALKER Metaverse would allow users to buy “a piece” of the game via blockchain technology. There should be several kinds of NFT, but the Ukrainian firm has chosen to detail a very specific contribution.
Become a full-fledged character
To put it simply, the player will have the possibility of becoming a metahuman, that is to say an NPC benefiting from an ultra-detailed rendering in STALKER 2. A representative of GSC Game World explains in particular that the identity of the person will be reproduced in the game. For this, the user concerned will go to the premises of the studio so that his appearance can be scanned.
The NFT can be obtained via an auction to be held next January. Finally, other types of NFT will be available in the game. However, the developers want to reassure us by explaining that they will not grant any advantage to their owners.
STALKER 2 will be released on April 28, 2022 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
