Always easy to handle

For the first anniversary of the release of Phasmophobia in early access, Kinetic Games released the anniversary update 0.3.1 this weekend. Some new features come with this patch:
a complete redesign of the newspaper to allow greater ease of use and navigation; the possibility of crossing out the evidence found on the type of ghost to have a better visibility of those that have already been found; full integration of the pause menu in the log and the ability to change game settings there.

Another novelty, and not the least, Phasmophobia now hosts a single player mode. Players will be able to start games without connecting to a server in order to enjoy the solo experience. Finally, when you fail during a mission, you no longer get the miserable 10 dollars, instead, you get the insurance, the price of which is calculated according to the level of difficulty.

This update pales in comparison to the 0.3 released almost a month ago, which added two new ghosts, an improved hunting system and significant visual changes, especially for objects. Substantial content that has revived the use of the game after the fallout from last year's enormous enthusiasm.

A year of success

Phasmophobia, developed by the studio Kinetic Games (composed of a single person until recently) was one of the big video game successes of the year 2020, alongside Animal Crossing, Fall Guys and Among Us Boosted by repeated confinements and thousands of streams on Twitch, the title surprised its world with its original concept of hunting ghosts using voice commands that work and a scary atmosphere to wish. Result: more than 2 million sales in nearly two months.

The first month of its release, Phasmophobia gathered more than 108 viewers on Twitch and the game was streamed on 000 channels, placing it in the top of streamed games. Of course, the initial enthusiasm has since died down, the fault first of all of a huge schedule of game releases at the end of 2, but also because of the lack of new content released on Phasmophobia.

But the development team has grown since the beginning of this summer, so this one will probably accelerate and new content is to be expected in the coming months. Content that will be vital for players to keep an interest in the title until its release, one day, from early access in version 1.0.
