So many were eager to (re)discover Diablo ii: resurrected on September 23 on all platforms, such was not their disappointment with a launch that was chaotic to say the least.

In addition to the server problems almost inherent in the launch of Blizzard games, other concerns such as the disappearance of characters have sown terror among players. The game teams have shared an article on its dedicated forum reviewing the actions taken to bring some semblance of order to Sanctuary.

The Lord of Terror wreaks havoc

As usual lately with a new Blizzard game, and even more with the iconic father of hack'n slash in a remastered version, the launch of Diablo II: Resurrected is far from being a long river of quiet lava. Server problems, untimely crashes, disappearance or impossibility to play with his characters under certain conditions, the problems seem to be legion.

While waiting for the servers to be purged of demonic evil affecting them, some adventurers opted for offline character creation. So they weren't going to be able to trade with other companions, but at least they could start clearing Sanctuary of the demonic threat. Unfortunately for them, such a ruse didn't work against Diablo, who had fun making these characters disappear or reset their progress.

A problem that would be linked in particular to the fact that most of the offline and online characters had been created with the same name, causing a bug that was unexpected to say the least. Many were the heroes on the sidelines during those early dark days.

Tyraël is on the move

First fixes were deployed the day after launch, in particular regarding the removal or locking of characters. Other stability or performance issues have also been addressed, and Blizzard teams continue to monitor the situation. The road to Hell is still paved with technical problems, such as the difficulty of creating or joining rooms to play with others. Once again, Blizzard continues to analyze the data collected on this subject and is currently working on a permanent solution.

Despite the latest patches, untimely crashes, even for some an impossibility to launch the game, are still reported by players. Same story: Blizzard is working hard to improve the stability of Diablo II: Resurrected. Still other reports concern gameplay-related issues or more minor bugs. Concerns considered with some reason as less urgent and on which Blizzard will come back later.

As you will have understood, Diablo is definitely a primordial demon that is very difficult to defeat. If the most impatient have already bought the game with all the inconveniences that implies, it is more prudent for the curious to wait for the infernal flames to settle. Diablo always ends up coming back sooner or later, and Sanctuary constantly needs heroes to take him down.

As a reminder, Diablo II: Resurrected is available since September 23 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
