Plagued by bugs, disappointing content and repulsive plastic, WWE 2K20 undoubtedly marked one of the greatest failures in the very closed world of wrestling simulations. To review its copy, the American publisher 2K Games even went so far as to cancel the 2021 edition in order to fully focus on a complete overhaul of the franchise. And this strategy could well pay off.

If we believe the statements of Brian Mazique, writer for Forbes, WWE 2K22 is on the right track. Indeed, sources close to the team in charge of development indicate that the gameplay "is fantastic" at this stage of production. Even better, everyone who was invited to test this new version would be unanimous about it. The game engine has also been overhauled.
Finally, the gameplay would be more instinctive and “clean”. In short, magnificent promises that will have to materialize, controller in hand. WWE 2K22 is expected to reveal a bit more as we approach the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view to be held on Saturday, August 21.
