World of Warcraft: Blizzard tries to establish a more direct dialogue with the community

In the midst of a particularly heavy climate for Blizzard and World of Warcraft, a more direct dialogue with the community is being established on the behemoth MMORPG.

Shortly after the announcement of the cancellation of the next BlizzConline, Blizzard indeed announced the creation of a Community Council, a platform whose objective is to give a handpicked group a more direct line of communication with developers.

If Blizzard has still not yet recovered from the cases of sexual harassment and discrimination which overwhelm it, its former hen with the golden eggs World of Warcraft has been tired for much longer. Since the Battle for Azeroth expansion, the one who was king of the MMORPG genre has since experienced a slow decline in popularity. Some of the content of WOW has also been modified following accusations against Activision-Blizzard for more inclusiveness.

The fault in particular with game mechanics mainly encouraging, after having completed the content of an extension, to accomplish daily objectives without much originality in order to acquire better equipment. And also obviously because of developers who were no longer in tune with their community.

This is why the latter announced this week the creation of a Community Council. The wishful thinking behind this tool is to provide a direct means of communication between developers and a group of gamers on a wide range of topics. Whether it's raiding, PvP, roleplaying or balancing. This Council, on the other hand, will only be interested in present and past experiences. Council members will therefore not have privileged access to undisclosed content.

Council application campaign

To sit on this Board, if you are interested, you must complete a registration form via the link cited in the source below. If the application has been accepted, the new members of the Council will have access to a new forum exclusively dedicated to providing a privileged channel of communication between players and developers.

On these forums, players will therefore be able to freely share their experience on many subjects, in order to provide feedback that can be better studied by the developers. The members of the Community Council will also have a private channel to discuss with each other and possibly agree on the grievances that will be communicated.

It remains to be seen whether this initiative will actually prove successful and under what conditions the members of the Council are selected. Hoping that the developers will indeed select players from all walks of life and with very different opinions about World of Warcraft, at the risk of biasing the discussion.
