If the players and players who swear allegiance only to triple A are gray mine, the amateurs of independent games are in heaven. At the end of an already rather generous month of April in this area, May seems to be following the same path. To see more clearly, we offer you our selection of titles not to be missed this month!

Rogue Legacy 2

Available on PC, PlayStation et Xbox

Fresh out of the factories of Cellar Door Games after 2 years of early access, Rogue Legacy 2 seems to honor the legacy of the first opus – released in 2013, already.

Judging by the first tests (ours are coming, we promise!), the roguelike is richer than ever and overflowing with content. If the new artistic touch may displease purists, Cellar Door's game remains faithful to its DNA while offering many more possibilities to regulars and newcomers alike.

Trek to Yomi

Released May 5 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox (Day 1 in the Game Pass)

Yes, the inspiration seems obvious, but Trek to Yomi does not claim any parentage with a certain Ghost of Tsushima.

In the new game co-developed by Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior 3) and Leonard Menchiari (The Eternal Castle), we indeed reconnect with a certain representation of feudal Japan.

In the shoes of an apprentice samurai, the player will walk through different side-view tableaux that borrow heavily from the aesthetics of 50s and 60s saber cinema. will be backed by straight-line gameplay.

Evil Dead: The Game

Released May 13 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch

Ash Williams cheated on Dead by Daylight — to put it mildly. Saber Interactive's new game (World War Z) draws heavily on Behavior Interactive's successful asymmetrical survival game formula, but plays on the aura of the Evil Dead license to pull its chainsaw out of the haystack.

Thanks to different classes and by embodying cult characters from the saga initiated by Sam Raimi in 1981, a group of four survivors must arm themselves and resist waves of voracious zombies. Alone, another player incarnates a demon from Kandar and, at the controls of an army of corpses, must prevent his opponents from reaching their end.

Vampire : The Masquerade - Swansong

Released May 19 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox

Pending the chimera Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, video game projects in the World of Darknest universe are multiplying. After the Battle Royale subtitled Bloodhunt, it's the turn of the Spaniards from Big Bad Wolf to reveal their interpretation of the famous role-playing game.

Like their previous title The Council, Swansong will take the form of a third-person mystery game with an RPG twist. We will embody three vampires belonging to distinct clans, and whose choices will allow us to expand the territory in an alternative Boston of the 90s.

souldiers

Released May 19 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch

While waiting for the – obviously illusory – release of Silksong, metroidvania fans can get closer to Souldiers to get their fix.

With a lovely 16-bit aesthetic, Retro Forge's first game will allow you to seamlessly switch between three character classes: the scout, the archer or the spellcaster.

Thanks to different powers, and abilities that you unlock as you progress, you can access new areas and hope to find the world of the living.

Sniper Elite 5

Released May 26 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox

Believe it or not, five years have already passed since the release of Sniper Elite 4. And Rebellion Entertainment has lost none of its love for 7,62mm bullets that fire in slow motion and skulls that explode. under the impact.

Like its predecessors, Sniper Elite 5 puts you in the shoes of gunslinger prodigy Karl Fairburne — whose name sounds divine in the language of Molière. This new opus takes place in Spain, and will ask us to come and thwart the "Kraken Project" of the 3rd Reich by sticking bastos to whom it may concern.

The TPS will offer to browse its campaign in cooperation, and also inaugurates an Invasion mode which, like Deathloop, comes to spice up the parties by opposing us to an enemy sniper controlled by another player.
