Warframe: The New War expansion becomes clearer

Warframe: The New War expansion becomes clearer

In the boxes of Digital Extremes since 2019, the extension The New War for its MMO Action-RPG free-to-play successful Warframe is clarified via a trailer.

The most ambitious update to the now eight-year-old game, presented most recently during Tennocon 2021, will therefore sow chaos and war on December 15.

A New War is looming

The New War expansion is a new milestone in storytelling for Warframe. It will indeed be a series of quests with a very cinematic tone, which should teach us more about the vast lore of the Digital Extremes universe and the different factions involved. We will have the opportunity to embody different characters from the Grineers, Corpus or Dax.

This is a great way to renew the gameplay with each character with their own skills and objectives, while telling us the story of Warframe through very different points of view. The New War promises thirty hours of play before seeing the end of it.

In addition to this more scripted addition, The New War will be accompanied by a new Warframe (increasing the counter to 48, all the same) and new weapons to complete the arsenal of our Tenno.

Digital Extremes is far from done with Warframe, however. Other major expansions will surely be expected over the months and years to come. Also announced during TennoCon 2021, a version playable on smartphones as well as cross-play and cross-progression features on all platforms are planned in the more or less near future.
