Barely a day after the presentation of the next-gen versions of cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED veterans announce the creation of their own studio, called "Rebel Wolves", whose simple maxim is " by players for players ».
We find at the head of these rebellious wolves none less than Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, game director of the masterpiece of the action-RPG genre that is The Witcher 3. In addition to the announcement of this new studio, the freshly created team took the opportunity to teaser a single-player AAA RPG running Unreal Engine 5 and endowed with a very typical dark fantasy atmosphere… doesn't that remind you of anything?
The School of the Wolf is recruiting again
After 17 years of good and loyal service at CD Projekt RED, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has decided to change air and found a new studio, accompanied by many veterans of the Polish giant. Thus was born Rebel Wolves, which simply aims to offer "the Holy Grail of RPG on PC". The idea would therefore be to reproduce the feeling of a paper role-playing game in a video game format, like a certain Baldur's Gate III recently patched.
To carry out this ambitious project, Rebel Wolves intends however to remain a small agile structure not exceeding 80 employees, with a philosophy aimed at avoiding at all costs the crunch and other evils found in the biggest studios. Nevertheless, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz intends to surround himself with a talented and motivated team aspiring to experiment, innovate and create.
Asked moreover about the controversial subject of NFTs in video games, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz gave the following answer: “There won't be any in our games. Never ". We have been warned and very curious to learn more about the very ambitious project of Rebel Wolves.
