If Naughty Dog had first announced thatUncharted 4 would be his last opus, the door is no longer completely closed. And a statement from the Californian studio revives the hope of fans.
Last January, shortly after the launch of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Shaun Escayg, creative director at Naughty Dog, was already casting doubt. Indeed, he underlined his love for the saga while specifying that "never say never" concerning a possible new game. If the studio is already busy with its projects revolving around The Last of Us, this dear Nathan Drake may not be far away.
Towards a real fifth adventure?
Thus, Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty, a new recruiter who has just arrived at Naughty Dog, published a strange message on the social network LinkedIn. She says she is looking for "talent at all levels [...], in order to build future teams to work not only on new titles, but also on [what she calls, editor's note] the Uncharted legacy". By this expression, McBrearty seems to indicate that the studio could be working on a new Uncharted.
Of course, caution is still in order. If a hypothetical Uncharted 5 by Naughty Dog has something to seduce on paper, it could also be a turn of phrase a bit risky used by the recruiter. In short, we will have to wait for a more official speech to know the end of this story.
