  • A titanic content
  • Constantly changing gameplay
  • Gameplay mastered in every aspect
If you already loved the tribulations of Mario, there is no doubt that this Switch episode will find its way into your toy library. And if you don't really enjoy the adventures of Father Mario, maybe it's time to give him a second chance, as this Switch episode turns out to be successful. Beautiful, big, deep and extremely clever, this Mario Odyssey is a great game that you have to discover as much as possible.

Is it really necessary to introduce Mario? From his early days as Donkey Kong's "nemesis" (when he was still called Jumpman) to his recent adventures on Switch, the proud plumber has carved out quite the reputation in the video game world. . A true icon created by Shigeru Miyamoto, Mario is one of those characters who knew how to transcend their basic media to gradually invade all spheres of pop culture.

If the series of Mario did not invent the platform game, it is nevertheless one of its most eminent representatives, regularly coming to shake up the codes of the genre, as was the case on the occasion of the switch to 3D with Mario 64. Despite the astronomical number of episodes released to date (and if we exclude the few wanderings of the Philips CD-i), Mario still and always continues to produce rich, engaging titles, with quality rarely found wanting. And it's not with the latest episode, Mario Odyssey, that this series will stop, since imagine that this vintage Nintendo Switch is good!

Happy who like Mario...

As often with episodes of the Mario franchise, this new opus begins in a way that could not be more classic. While this good Mario is on his way to see Peach, Bowser acts up by kidnapping the princess, with the aim, this time, of putting the ring on her finger, by force of course. Listening only to his courage, the plumber sets off in pursuit of the "couple", determined to send the ugly one back where he came from. This pretext scenario, seen and reviewed, will allow us to discover a host of new places that Mario will have to explore from top to bottom, in search of Moons, elements that allow him to travel from world to world.

In this adventure, he can count on a new companion named Cappy, a conscious hat that will not only allow him to perform many antics, but also to take control of enemies or decorative elements that cross his path. A brand new principle that allows this Mario to multiply the gameplay, each opponent having special abilities. Talents that will have to be used wisely to explore gigantic worlds, with inspired level design, and full of secrets of all kinds. In short, blessed bread for lovers of hairy exploration, and completists of all kinds.

2. Zelda: Breath of the Wild

  • A rich and beautiful open world
  • An amazing lifespan
  • A real lesson in level design
If you only had to take one game on Switch, it would probably be this Zelda that we would recommend. Gigantic lifespan, perfect game mechanics, sumptuous artistic direction, rich and engaging story, Breath of the Wild has everything you need to train you for hours in its open world that has become a reference. An essential masterpiece.

You probably know it, but the Nintendo toy library is a veritable pool of licenses, and by extension of cult characters. If Mario immediately comes to mind, he only slightly yields to another well-known license: The Legend of Zelda. Created around the same time, during the era of the NES and its 8-bit graphics, these two series have evolved in parallel since then, even if Link and his gang are a little less verbose than their counterparts.

Adventure series par excellence, The Legend of Zelda tells us episode after episode the adventures of Link, his fight against the infamous Ganon, and his quest to free the world of Hyrule, and his princess, Zelda, who takes more more important as the episodes go by. Each title in this saga brings its share of novelties, and universes that are becoming more and more original. Unanimously acclaimed, this series is dear to the hearts of many players, without one episode outweighing the others, each shining with its own qualities. With Breath of the Wild, the Switch episode which should benefit from a direct sequel, Nintendo has given a big kick in the anthill by offering a Zelda in the open world for the first time. And the least we can say is that it's a hell of a good idea!

Nintendo cashes in on its Sheik

Adventure series par excellence, Zelda is also a license that is constantly renewed, episode after episode. With this Breath of the Wild, Nintendo did not do things by halves by seizing the principle of the open world to transform it in its own way. The result is devilishly successful, and will go down in the annals of video games alongside the greatest. Indeed this new Zelda revolutionizes (and the word is not used lightly), the recipe for open world games.

This episode opens with the awakening of Link, who appears to have been placed in stasis for a good hundred years. The world around him has changed a lot, and seems to have been devastated by a cataclysm. The manager ? Obviously, Ganon will have to be sent ad patres. Before that, however, you have to get around a fairly long tutorial, which allows you to discover the main mechanics of the game, powers, original for some, which will influence the way you progress in the story, and in the world created for you. this episode.

From the first steps in this new Hyrule, it is possible to see that the recipe for Zelda has changed. This time you will be on your own, free to do what you want, to go where you want to go. Every part of the world can be visited, at every moment of the game, and you can only rely on your abilities to get by. Crafting mechanics, weapon wear and other body temperature management are part of it, so you'll have to manage everything in order to overcome the challenges offered by this open, living, and particularly imposing world.

With daunting content, which has been enriched over the course of additional add-ons, this Zelda Breath of the Wild will take you on a long, rich adventure, from which you will probably not come out unscathed. Especially since these innovative mechanics are accompanied by a sumptuous achievement that connects fabulous panoramas and memorable sequences.

  • The Animal Crossing formula still just as addictive
  • A relaxing atmosphere that feels good
  • The craft well included in the gameplay
  • The ability to enjoy the game with friends
  • Graphically successful in portable as in docked mode
  • An accessible game
The Animal Crossing formula is timeless and it gains even more depth with this New Horizons. With unlimited replayability and a hugely addictive concept, it's a Switch staple for everyone.

A real breath of fresh air when it was released in March 2020 in a difficult health context, Animal Crossing New Horizons continues to be enjoyed by millions of gamers every day. This global hit has retained all the advantages of the first opus that arrived in the West in 2002. But with the latest episode, the license has shattered records and won the hearts of a large number of owners of a Nintendo Switch.

Seven long years after the last major opus to date (Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS), the saga is back on the Japanese brand's hybrid machine. If the changes are not necessarily obvious from the first minutes, this iteration nevertheless contains many new features in terms of its gameplay as well as its content, without denying its origins. Because after all, why change a winning formula?

Robinson better watch out

A new life awaits the player on a beautiful paradise island. This small piece of land is quite wild when we arrive and it is then necessary to collect resources to lay the first stone of what will later be a welcoming village. Animal Crossing obliges, it is possible to enlarge our house by repaying the loan contracted with this raptor (well rather this tanuki) that is Tom Nook. For this, it is essential to fish, capture insects or even dig up fossils before going to sell everything at the corner shop to get a few bells (the currency of the game).

On paper, the formula of this Animal Crossing: New Horizons may seem very light. Yet it is just as addictive. We get to sympathize with the inhabitants of the island, to participate in events and even to visit the island of another player when this one allows it. The immersion is reinforced by time and the passing seasons as in reality. Animal Crossing almost plunges us into a second life full of good humor and lightness. We personalize our house, we buy clothes and we listen to the latest gossip while chatting with the neighbors.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is perfect for relaxing and forgetting the worries of everyday life. This game suitable for all audiences manages to constantly renew its content with the arrival of new fish, insects and other events every month. Whether on long or short gaming sessions, this Nintendo Switch exclusive transports us. It is not for nothing that the license has been able to federate a real community of enthusiasts over the episodes.

4. Hades

  • Ultra nervous, precise and varied gameplay
  • Solid replayability
  • An indecent artistic direction
  • A challenge suitable for all players
  • Quality voice acting and writing
As solid on the bottom as on the form, Hades is a new nugget signed Supergiant Games in which it is really difficult to find faults. A flamboyant lesson, quite simply.

It is only on the eShop that Hades arrived on Nintendo Switch after a remarkable passage on PC during its early access phase. Now, the Supergiant Games title (Bastion, Transistor, Pyre) is available on the Japanese manufacturer's machine... And it's really worth the detour!

Imposing a new license is never easy. However, this is what the Supergiant Games studio has managed to do with the release of each of its first three games. And Hades is no exception as the software has been awarded numerous times since the release of its version 1.0 in September 2020. With its Rogue-Lite mechanics, its perfectly conducted narration and its ultra nervous gameplay, the title has become forged a great community since the beginning of its early access launched in December 2018.

When hell looks like heaven

Here, the player embodies Zagreus, the son of the god of the underworld in person. Our hero, however, seeks to escape from the bowels of his very comfortable home located in the depths of the Earth to discover the world on the surface. But this quest is not easy since many creatures stand in the way of our rebel who must fight to achieve the goal he has set himself. Fortunately, he can count on the help of the Olympian deities (Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite...) who do not hesitate to provide him with the powers necessary to progress. At the same time, Zagreus attempts to unravel the mystery surrounding his origins.

The script is absolutely enthralling and each character benefits from careful writing. In addition, the dubbing (only in English but with Spanish subtitles) is of exquisite quality. But where Hades particularly shines is in its instinctive, nervous and demanding gameplay. The fights are sometimes difficult and you have to resign yourself to dying to start off on the right foot. But rogue-like obliges, the player can improve the skills of Zagreus before each new test. However, the game will multiply the surprises in order to push the player to his last entrenchments.

The isometric 3D view is perfect for understanding the action (even on the "small" screen of the Switch) and the ultra-colorful artistic direction is a real eye-catcher. Hades is therefore a game that requires mastery but which constantly rewards the player, whether in terms of the powers obtained or the revelations made over the course of the scenario. The concept is classic but ultra addictive. Hades really does not lack charm!

5. Luigi's Mansion 3

  • Visually and acoustically stunning (both docked and mobile)
  • Fifteen floors, fifteen atmospheres
  • General progression
  • Boss fights
  • Very ingenious puzzles
  • The Luigi/Gluigi duality
  • A true local co-op mode
  • Lifetime
You will have understood it, whether or not you have experienced the first two opuses of the saga, there is no doubt that this Luigi's Mansion 3 will fill you with happiness, so many new features and other finds are there, with the added bonus of a really very different atmosphere. on each floor you visit. If you've never supported Luigi in his hunt for ghosts, we can only advise you too much to start with this third opus, at the same time accessible, creative, ambitious and quite masterful from a visual and sound point of view (and fully playable in co-op too). In short, if this was not already the case, you will love vacuuming, this Luigi's Mansion 3 is a pure success, and easily climbs into the Top 5 of the best Nintendo Switch games. That is what is said.

If Mario is the undisputed star of Nintendo, his brother in the green overalls also knows how to get noticed with the arrival of Luigi's Mansion 3 on Switch. Since its announcement, this third opus has regularly been illustrated through videos illustrating its unique atmosphere. The result lives up to expectations... We can even say that it easily exceeds them.

Launched in 2001 on GameCube, the first Luigi's Mansion made an impression thanks to its atmosphere greatly inspired by Scooby-Doo cartoons. Indeed, the brother of the most famous plumber in the world found himself in a mansion infested with ghosts. Luigi therefore had to muster his courage in both hands to capture these spirits using his Ectoblast, a kind of vacuum cleaner. We therefore also found a small Ghostbusters dimension of the most pleasant. A very particular setting which led to a sequel released in 2013 on 3DS. The game system had then been refined but the recipe remained unchanged. With this third epic, Nintendo has once again taken up the best elements of this license with a nice touch of modernity as a bonus.

Where Luigi passes, ghosts pass away

This Luigi's Mansion 3 takes place in the heart of a mysterious hotel in which Luigi and his friends come to take it easy. Of course, this was a hoax since the ghosts capture our heroes in the middle of the night. Luigi is therefore forced to resume service, armed with his Ectoblast. The Nintendo Switch reinforces the cartoonish aspect of the game. The sets are varied, colorful and Luigi's animations are absolutely delicious. The latter jumps at the slightest suspicious noise and his gestures respond accordingly. The result is as zany as it is funny. The software is suitable for players of all ages because despite the presence of ghosts, we are not facing a horror game. The atmosphere is quite similar to that of the Haunted House or even the Tower of Terror at Disneyland.

Even though the action takes place in one and the same building, the environments change regularly. Each floor has its own theme. Via the service elevator, the buttons of which must be found to progress, Luigi goes to a cinema set, to a greenhouse or even to a fortified castle. The gameplay alternates between exploration phases, puzzles and fights. Thus, the whole thing turns out to be varied and exciting. Some puzzles also require a bit of common sense by using Luigi's double named Gooigi. The whole adventure is playable in local cooperation and a multiplayer mode (up to 8) is included.

Since the first episode, the Luigi's Mansion saga continues to improve and this number 3 is undoubtedly the most accomplished. It takes advantage of the performance of the Switch to shine in all areas. If its plastic is logically more brilliant than at the beginning of the 2000s, this opus also retains a touch of nostalgia via its dialogues based on sound effects and voluntarily undubbed. Luigi's Mansion 3 is aimed at a young audience, casual players but also the most experienced. This is the strength of Nintendo's title that leaves no one on the side of the road.

6. Smash Bros Ultimate

  • Ever-increasing customization
  • Huge content
  • A generous adventure mode
The most successful episode to date, Smash Bros Ultimate is a real success. With gameplay that's as approachable as it is deep, and massive content for those who will bother to explore, this installment is also perfect for those who just want to have fun. Whether you choose to explore the “story” mode in order to collect all the spirits or simply to play a small match between friends, there is no doubt that you will find your happiness with this title of rare richness.

At Nintendo, Mario, Zelda and other Metroids are now unanimously recognized as monuments, even if some licenses are now a tad put away in the closet. However, this did not prevent Nintendo from regularly using the characters from these licenses, often for a good cause. The best of them? Arguably the Smash Bros. series.

Released in 1999 on Nintendo 64, the first episode of this license was immediately a resounding success with players. It must be said that Nintendo and Hal Laboratory had a brilliant idea by offering us nothing less than a fighting game (although very different from a Street Fighter) featuring characters from all over the Nintendo toy library. . The opportunity to see Mario sticking big tatanes to Pikachu, or to see Samu quietly licking Captain Falcon's face. An extremely pleasant, even enjoyable concept, which has been enriched over the course of the episodes until it has arrived on Switch with an absolutely mind-blowing roster which allows you to see not only the classic protagonists, but also some guests like Bayonetta compete against each other. , Soni, Cloud or Solid Snake.

No items, Fox only, Final Destination

Smash Bros is a somewhat special school of fighting game that uses the strengths of Nintendo games at full speed. Take a good dose of fun, affordable gameplay, but not without depth for those who wish to dig into the question, a plethora of content, mix it all up and you get titles that hit the mark almost every time. This is more or less the formula applied for the creation of this Super Smash Bros Ultimate. For the bottom two who don't follow, the Smash Bros series invites us to take part in side-view multiplayer battles. The goal ? Send his opponents flying out of the "ring" by hitting them as much as possible.

A simple principle but which hits the mark, and often causes frank laughs (or broken friendships). For this Switch episode, Nintendo has pulled out all the stops by deciding to include everything that came to mind. It is thus no less than 74 characters that it will be possible to select to get fucked in the face, i.e. all the characters who have ever set foot in a Smash Bros. ring. And with Nintendo releasing new character packs on a regular basis, expect that number to continually increase.

Beyond a gigantic roster, which will allow everyone to find their happiness in terms of fighting style, this Smash Bros Ultimate also offers a gameplay with small onions. Polished to the extreme, the result of several years of evolution, it is currently in its most "pure" form, and offers a simple gaming experience, without being simplistic. In terms of content, this episode arises there. With a plethora of single and multiplayer game modes, it will keep you going for hours, without getting bored.

7. Metroid Dread

  • Aesthetically stunning (especially on Switch OLED)
  • A worked and stressful atmosphere in front of the EMMI
  • Tough bosses that increase the difficulty
  • Some great staging ideas
  • The 2D Metroid formula still as effective...
Metroid Dread is everything we could expect from a 2D Metroid. If the genre revolution is clearly not there, we are in the presence of a most entertaining Nintendo production. It's the perfect game to accompany the launch of the Switch OLED.

Almost two decades after her last 2D adventures, Samus made her comeback on Nintendo Switch in Metroid dread. Fans were eagerly awaiting this and the Spanish studio MercurySteam delivered a copy very faithful to the legacy left by the series. Between a good gateway for some and a long-awaited sequel for others, this episode stands among the best games on the Switch.

While we were instead waiting for concrete information about Metroid Prime 4, Nintendo finally took everyone by surprise at E3 2021 by announcing Metroid Dread. Sequel to the excellent Metroid Fusion released on Game Boy Advance in 2002, this is the fifth chapter of the saga opting for a 2D point of view. You should also know that the game had nevertheless been considered by the teams of the Japanese firm several years ago. But because of the technological restrictions of its previous machines, Nintendo had then decided to put the project on stand-by … And it is in the end the Switch which has the immense honor of receiving this already essential episode!

We're really going to enjoy ourselves

Our poor bounty hunter is once again in a very delicate situation. Sent to the planet ZDR to eliminate an X parasite on the loose, Samus Aran is directly attacked a few seconds after landing. All his abilities fly away and it will be up to the player to help him regain his powers while looking for a way to escape this hostile world to say the least. Because if the local fauna is already unwelcoming, another threat is hidden in the darkness. These are the EMMI robots who do not hesitate to chase our heroine once she is spotted. In short, the journey will not be easy.

It is true that Metroid Dread does not invent much. The MercurySteam teams have taken up the formula of the old games without ever altering it. All areas are not accessible from the start, the use of a very specific power is often required to progress or to seize a bonus. Round trips are inevitably on the program as in any good self-respecting Metroidvania. And if the bosses remain impressive, the sequences with the EMMI are undoubtedly the most oppressive. If these metallic entities are content to patrol in clearly demarcated areas, they are no less dangerous. Once their paws are on Samus, it's game over (almost) assured. Cunning and using powers, like temporary invisibility, wisely is essential to escape.

Thus, the Metroid Dread recipe has proven itself in the past and remains truly timeless. The fights are nervous, the challenge sometimes very high and the game is very successful aesthetically (it's even better on the beautiful screen of the Switch OLED). If the staging is rather minimalist, the adventure has a few moments of anthology in store for us and quite unexpected revelations complete the whole thing after a most epic final battle. In short, Metroid Dread does exactly what was expected of it. A new hit for a Nintendo Switch that continues to impress.

8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

PriceMario Kart 8 Deluxe

  • The Ultimate Multi Racing Game
  • Huge content
  • Accessible and fun for all
Multiplayer game par excellence, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a must have, let's not be afraid of words. An essential element of any good Switch toy library, it turns out to be an ideal companion for any evening with friends. As fun as it is deep for those who want to invest in it, full of content to discover, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a real success.

We've said it before, Mario is probably the most famous Nintendo license there is. It is not for nothing if the mustachioed is the mascot of the Japanese firm. Over the years, the Mario series has greatly diversified, the plumber and his friends going for a spin at the Olympic Games, on a board game, or going to practice many sports activities for the greatest delight of game lovers. fun and engaging multiplayer games.

However, we should not forget the game that is at the origin of this rise in secondary activities: good old Mario Kart. Released on SNES in 1992, this title took Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser and other Koopas to compete, shell in hand, on a string of circuits inspired by the environments of Super Mario World. Racing game including a good dose of fighting thanks to twisted "weapons", it also had a Battle game mode which still leaves fond memories for players who played it at the time. A real success and immediate success with players, Mario Kart is now an institution in the Nintendo ecosystem, and each console has the right to its own episode, bringing its share of new features. The Switch is no exception to the rule with its Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Watch out for shells

Mario Kart is therefore an almost obligatory title for owners of consoles stamped with the big N. Multiplayer game par excellence, capable of shattering the most beautiful of friendships with a great deal of shell, it is a must. This Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is, as its name may suggest, an improved version of Mario Kart 8 released on Wii U. Understand that this version includes all the basic DLC released on the previous Nintendo console, carrying the number of circuits at 48, and the number of playable characters at 41. Enough to have fun quietly with friends without weariness pointing the tip of your nose.

For the rest, we are faced with Mario Kart pure juice. The pilots are distributed by weight class, which influences their acceleration and their top speed, dictating the style of play. There is also the vehicle customization system: cabin, wheels and sails combine to grant various characteristics to your car, which, once again, will strongly influence the way you play and approach the races. Add to that a whole bunch of little subtleties in driving, such as the possibility of performing tricks in the air, or of obtaining turbos by skidding in the turns, and we obtain a gameplay richer than it doesn't seem like it at first.

Nevertheless, and this is the whole tragedy of Mario Kart, the best driver will not be able to do anything against the ax of the shell. This is also what makes the salt of these racing games: the "weapons" that it will be possible to recover on the track, and which can literally change the course of a race. It is undoubtedly also one of the most pleasurable elements of this game, which often causes cries of pain and frustration among the victims. To top it off, this Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also includes many game modes and difficulty levels (including the famous, absolutely infernal 200cc mode) that will keep you going and keep you busy for hours.

  • The Filoptere, a novelty that makes combat and exploration more fluid
  • The verticality of the levels
  • The return of local multiplayer, perfect for hunting with friends
  • An already plethoric content that will be enriched over time...
Perfect synthesis between the modernity brought by World and the philosophy (sometimes a bit archaic) carried by past episodes, Monster Hunter Rise succeeds in its balancing act brilliantly. Rich and complete but affordable, it is a perfect entry point, not free from flaws, to discover this fantastic series.

Galvanized by the success of Monster Hunter World on home consoles, Capcom did not want to stop there. This time, the Japanese publisher has chosen to partner with Nintendo in order to release a brand new opus on the very popular Switch. This project materialized in the form of Monster Hunter: Rise, an episode faithful to the license which adapts perfectly to the hybrid dimension of its favorite console.

Firmly based on the foundations of the saga, Monster Hunter: Rise is a canonical episode that exploits the full potential of the Nintendo Switch. Thus, purists will clearly not be out of place since the concept of hunting remains at the heart of the epic which transports us to the village of Kamura. This town whose aesthetic is strongly inspired by medieval Japan is plagued by Calamity, a kind of curse that pushes monsters to attack this once peaceful hamlet. An introduction whose purpose is to justify the new monster hunting part depicted in the game.

Who goes hunting...

For the purposes of this Monster Hunter: Rise, Capcom did not rest on its laurels. Indeed, new creatures are appearing and their appearance is generally well worked. Within relatively open environments (but not as much as in World), the player can therefore take part in real battles against sometimes huge monsters! Monster Hunter obliges, it will be necessary to be well equipped before going into battle and to show a minimum of strategy against the very robust behemoths. The five hunting zones available have a bestiary and a unique little story. More vertical, the sets gain in complexity and can sometimes offer superb panoramas thanks to controlled artistic direction.

In order to cross these places, the developers have imagined a new tool called Filoptère. It allows you to climb and move more easily on the walls. Something to boost progress and give a considerable advantage in combat. For the rest, it's pure Monster Hunter with all the intensity that we know from the series. The content is absolutely gargantuan and the local multiplayer is added on top to offer us games that are as friendly as they are nervous. It is simply impossible to list all the possibilities offered by Rise, but we refer you to our test to learn more.

In summary, Monster Hunter: Rise is an ideal introduction for beginners and a rewarding new epic for regulars. We must count on several dozen hours to witness the conclusion of the adventure and the Sunbreak extension will add a layer of it from the summer of 2022. In short, thanks to its convincing aesthetics, its addictive formula and its program Ultra complete, Monster Hunter: Rise is another unmissable game in the Nintendo Switch catalog.

10. Pokémon Legends: Arceus

It is a license that was starting to be sorely lacking in new features. And if Pokémon Legends: Arceus does not radically change the game, it does blow a certain breath of fresh air on the legendary Game Freak franchise. Thanks to a rediscovered freedom, to its most generous content or even to its gripping story, this episode has managed to hold its own. Millions of players are won over, so it deserves a place in this selection.

  • Hisui, a pleasant region with varied panoramas
  • An RPG side that gains in depth
  • Huge lifespan!
  • The refined Pokémon formula with more intense battles
  • The scenario rather pleasant to follow
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an opus that finally dares to move the lines for a license that was resting on its laurels. It's a real role-playing game with modern mechanics and a remarkable atmosphere! Something to please fans and newcomers alike

However, we can say that the game has come a long way. Indeed, during its first presentations, Pokémon Legends: Arceus had been harshly criticized for its dated plastic and its picky framerate. Finally, and if all the faults have not been erased to date, the Nintendo Switch exclusivity makes a relatively satisfactory copy at almost all levels. Better still, after 26 years of existence, the formula of the saga has finally been dusted off by its creators. What open up new perspectives for fans without turning everything upside down in the process. Because this episode has a lot to offer.

A world that finally opens up!

The tone is quickly set. Pokémon Legends: Arceus propels us into the shoes of a young trainer (or young trainer) in the heart of the Hisui region. Unlike previous games, this one takes place in the past when humans and Pokémon don't yet live in perfect harmony. By joining the Corps of Researchers of the Galaxy Group, our hero is entrusted with the heavy task of referencing all Pokémon by observing and capturing them. A less rudimentary scenario also punctuates this adventure but we will refrain from disclosing it in this paragraph. You just have to be content with knowing that this story will excite lovers of the franchise. The Pokémon lore does not lack depth and some characters turn out to be endearing (despite the regrettable absence of voices).

But what above all makes the charm of Pokémon Legends: Arceus is its semi-open world divided into relatively large biomes. Snow-capped mountains, swamps, plains, sunny beaches and many more can be explored at will, on foot or on horseback. Each location is home to unique Pokémon that the player is able to capture with a simple throw of the Poké Ball. The fight remains possible against the most recalcitrant watches. You can also hide in the tall grass, use bais, smoke bombs and other objects for a more strategic approach. Another significant addition, the craft makes its appearance to allow to design Poké Balls, potions and fortifiers without having to go through a shop.

Difficult to be exhaustive as the content is gargantuan. The secondary quests are legion, completing the Pokédex page for each Pokémon requires you to chain the tasks (capture while hidden, use a precise attack on the creature...) and the outfit of our avatar is also customizable. Still, the plastic of the game has something to divide... Because if the colors are shimmering, the little detailed textures and the elements of the decoration which appear at the last moment are snags a bit annoying. But if you manage to omit these few flaws, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will reward you with its entertaining adventure, its pleasant universe and its hair-raising lifespan. Something to be optimistic about the future of the saga!
