A few days before the official launch of the Steam Deck, now scheduled for February 25, you may have been wondering how Valve's portable machine would fare against Nintendo's hybrid console in terms of size and bulk...

Now with over a hundred verified games, let's find out how the Steam Deck stacks up against other portable devices!

A sizeable console…

It's Cary Golomb on Twitter who had fun comparing, photo in support, the size of the Steam Deck against many gaming machines. The Gamepad of the Wii U, the PS VITA or the Game Boy Advance… It will be difficult for you not to get a precise idea of the size of the beast soon to be marketed by Valve after reading this thread.

Among these many comparisons, it is mainly the one with the Nintendo Switch that interests us. Indeed, if the Valve console is not intended to be a direct competitor of the Big N console, the market for portable consoles today being more limited than at one time, the arrival of a new player necessarily registers as an event. And as we could imagine given the dimensions announced for the Steam Deck (298 mm x 117 mm x 49 mm), the latter will be much bulkier than the hybrid console (here in its OLED version). What necessarily raise questions about its ergonomics, particularly over long gaming sessions.

And, just for the sake of nostalgia, here's what the Steam Deck looks like when compared with Nokia's microscopic N-Gage. Hoping that the Valve console meets a less tragic destiny and a success at the height of its dimensions.
