Less than a year after its launch, the PS5 takes a new symbolic step. After Japan, the Sony Interactive Entertainment console confirms its success in the United Kingdom.
Since its release in November 2020, the PlayStation 5 has found more than 11 million takers around the world. A visible success on the market across the Channel, where the console has just crossed the bar of one million copies sold.

The Gamesindustry site, based on figures from GfK, reveals that it only took 39 weeks for the PS5 to reach one million units sold in the United Kingdom. This symbolic step was taken last August, three weeks before the PS4 reached this threshold. Despite the stock problems, the PS5 is therefore establishing itself as the fastest-selling PlayStation console across the Channel, in particular thanks to a sufficient supply in July and August. The Wii just keeps its speed record on the territory, established at 38 weeks.
A success that is also found in the territory's accessories and games segments, which were particularly prolific for the PlayStation in August 2021. The brand monopolizes the top 5 accessories with the three versions of the DualSense, the Pulse 3D headset and the DualShock 4. In the gaming department, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut did well by rising to second place in the best sales of August and establishing itself as the best-selling new game during this period.
