The Matrix Awakens: the Unreal Engine blurs the line between cinematographic work and video game even more

Teased a few days ago, the experience The matrix awakens, further reducing the differences between film and video game thanks to the Unreal Engine 5, was unveiled in more detail during the Game Awards.

Presented by none other than Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss (respectively Neo and Trinity in the film series), this technical demo will allow you to relive certain cult scenes from the Matrix films in a video game version in breathtaking visual quality.

"I've seen that before"

While waiting for The Matrix Resurrections in theaters and on the HBO Max SVoD service on December 22, the film's teams have worked together with Epic Games to present an experience that transcends the video game and the world of cinema.

This partnership thus gave birth to The Matrix Awakens, a technical demo on the border between the two arts powered by the powerful Unreal Engine 5 and offering the possibility of reliving the highlights of the cult cyberpunk saga. If the gameplay presented during the trailer stopped at a simple rail shooter, it is especially in the graphic performance that the project impresses.

Almost photorealistic, the visual experience is a beautiful showcase of Epic Games' state-of-the-art engine and can be downloaded now on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
