This Sunday, September 26 was the The Last of Us Day. The celebration orchestrated by Naughty Dog will unfortunately not have taught us much about the future of the license. However, some information has still been disclosed by the Californian studio.

After a second opus crowned with success, fans of The Last of Us are impatiently awaiting news from the franchise. If rumors evoke a hypothetical remake of the first episode, it is rather the multiplayer mode of The Last of Us Part II which is making the headlines at the moment. Because if it is not released at the same time as the solo part, the multiplayer component will be in the form of a game in its own right.

A good dose of patience

We owe the meager details that follow to Rochelle Snyder. The latter takes care of communication at Naughty Dog. In an article published on the studio's blog, she specifies that work continues on the multiplayer dimension of The Last of Us Part II.

“We are seeing community feedback as a lot of you are asking for multiplayer and wanting to get information. For now, we'll say we like what the team is developing and want to give them time to build this ambitious project, we'll reveal more when it's ready. »

Naughty Dog is currently in the midst of recruiting for multiplayer-related positions. Snyder concludes by stating that this game will be independent of The Last of Us Part II.
