Si The Last Of Us Part II is content to offer an extremely rich single player mode since its release, a multiplayer is supposed to complete the experience soon. And Naughty Dog could well add a very popular mode…

Last June, Bloomberg informed us that the famous online multiplayer of The Last of Us Part II will be presented as a standalone when it is released, on a date still unknown. Thus, players will not need to own the basic game to throw themselves into the connected experience of the software imagined by Naughty Dog. But despite the deafening silence of the Californian studio on this subject, unpublished details are currently wandering on the web.

A Fortnite-style kill?

Indeed, a content creator named Speclizer (specialized in mods), claims to have seized assets illustrating Naughty Dog's intentions for multiplayer, which was originally to be included in The Last of Us Part II. A kind of large map grouping together several locations from the single-player campaign (Adler Park, Camallito and its port) linked together was unearthed thanks to data mining. In addition, a compass and an indicator of the number of players, generally used in Battle royale, would also have been found.

Still, it is impossible to know if this Battle Royale mode is still relevant in the standalone multiplayer version of The Last of Us Part II. We will have to wait until an announcement from the Dogs.
