Since acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, questions about the Xbox exclusives of the group's future flagship licenses are coming from all sides. Phil Spencer comes to add a little oil to the fire.

The boss of Xbox confirms half-word that The Elder Scrolls VI would indeed be an Xbox Series X exclusive.

Towards an Xbox Series X exclusive for The Elder Scrolls 6

In an interview with British GQ, the thinking head of Microsoft's gaming branch returned to the exclusivity of Bethesda games. While Starfield will only be released on Xbox Series X and PC, fans are still wondering about the case of The Elder Scrolls VI which has been a matter of debate since the group's takeover. Phil Spencer seems to confirm several recent rumors the successor to Skyrim will be an Xbox exclusive. Asked about the issue of exclusives, he said:

“It's not about punishing any other platform, I fundamentally believe that they all have to be able to continue to grow. But to make people want to be on Xbox, I want to be able to contribute everything we have to offer. And that's just as true when I think of The Elder Scrolls VI and when I think of any of our licenses."

It's still not the firm confirmation that PS5 players are waiting for, but these firmer than usual words echo what Microsoft had already announced: Bethesda games will be released "first or better on Xbox". The American giant finally seems to have opted for the first option for the next big releases from the studios concerned.
