The Coalition, the studio behind the latest episodes of Gears, announces its transition toU for his future projects.

It is on the occasion of a blog post that the talented studio announces that it is turning its gaze to the future and the new generations. Unfortunately, it will be necessary to be patient before receiving a graphic slap similar to Gears 5, using the new and impressive engine of Epic Games. As a reminder, this one was presented last year as part of a demo on PS5.

Gears up

The Coalition has now become well known for delivering visually impressive experiences. After a high-flying Gears 5 on both PC and Xbox One and a Gears Tactics, their first mastered strategy game, the studio is looking to the future.

Historically, the Gears series has always acted as a flamboyant standard bearer for the various iterations of the Unreal Engine. A mastery of the engine which was clearly verified with a wonderfully optimized port on PC, then on Xbox Series X | S, with in particular a multiplayer mode at 120 constant fps. The Coalition thus intends to continue this legacy by working on its fifth version.

“As we look to our future games, we are excited to begin transitioning our resources to next-gen development with Unreal Engine 5 for our many new projects,” the studio said.

A transition to a not so near future

If the prospect of seeing The Coalition working on this brand new engine can delight, it will however be necessary to be patient. The studio has indeed made it clear: “Transitioning to a new engine is a big undertaking. We therefore want to warn you that we will not be announcing new projects or titles for a long time. »

The studio also took the opportunity to highlight many job offers relating to these famous new projects. Offers that affect as many technical aspects as software, artistic and community. Everything therefore suggests that the studio intends to surround itself as it should in order to carry out these projects.

As for the nature of the titles currently in the pipeline, we can in any case count without getting too wet on a sixth episode of the Gears saga. There were also rumors of a Star Wars game, but The Coalition has since denied them.

Anyway, we can't wait to see what this talented studio is capable of on the impressive Unreal Engine 5… in a few years?
