The Coalition (Gears of War) reveals its technical demo under Unreal Engine 5

Thanks to the power of the new consoles, development studios will be able to do wonders. And to dazzle us, the studio behind the recent Gears of War has chosen to switch its future projects to the Unreal Engine 5 engine.

If Epic Games has already presented its demo made under Unreal Engine 5, the other studios had not yet shown the capabilities of this new engine until today. But that was without counting on The Coalition, which has just lifted the veil on its technical demo designed using Epic's powerful engine. These early videos give us a vague idea of โ€‹โ€‹what upcoming blockbusters might look like.

The Unreal Engine is eye-popping!

First of all, it is important to clarify that these renderings are not taken from a game currently in development at The Coalition. Here, the objective is to demonstrate the performance of the early-access version of the Unreal Engine 5. Thus, the Alpha Point demo (at the top of this article) benefits from real-time lighting and reflections. More than 100 million triangles were used to design it. And this sequence obviously runs on Xbox Series X.

Finally, still above, we can appreciate a character modeled via the Unreal Engine 5 and running on the Microsoft console. In this case, 160 triangles are present for the body, 000 for the face and 31 million on the hair. It remains to be seen if the next games from The Coalition will benefit from such advanced realism.
