As a prelude to Gamescom, Microids announces the release of the new adventures of Kate Walker for the very end of the year.
Syberia: The World Before is the fourth installment of the Syberia franchise initiated almost twenty years ago. Microids specifies that the release date is now set for December 10 and indicates that pre-orders are already open on the three main PC platforms: Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store.

A posthumous adventure
On May 28, Benoît Sokal disappeared. The screenwriter known for his countless contributions to the world of comics was also very present in the video game. He is notably at the origin of the Syberia franchise on which he had the double role of author and artistic director.
After the second opus (2004), he embarked on other projects (Paradise, L'Île Noyée) before moving away from video games and only returning to it with the third Syberia, in 2017 Before his death, Benoît Sokal had managed to complete most of the work on the fourth opus, of which he was once again the author and artistic director.

The prologue playable for free
Syberia: The World Before logically allows us to find the character of Kate Walker. The presentation tells us: “During a journey rich in twists and while the influence of the Dark Shadow continues to spread in Europe, discover what bond united Kate Walker and Dana Roze. Two characters who will face threats through two distinct temporalities”.
The Microids press release points out that the game's prologue is available for free on the Steam and GOG platforms.
