What better game to start this top 5 than the legendary fifth installment of The Elder Scrolls franchise? Released ten years ago, it is still one of the best open-world RPGs today.

The world of Skyrim has absorbed millions of players into its enchanting Nordic ambience, and its main storyline pitting us against many dragons makes it the most epic episode of the series.

The Special Edition, released in 2016, integrates in addition to a basic adventure with a gigantic lifespan all additional content, all with remastered graphics and effects.

And if that's not enough, Skyrim's modding community is one of the most prolific, helping to elevate an already cult experience. Two very ambitious projects are in progress to give a second life to Morrowind and Oblivion in Skyrim. In short, a game that any sandbox RPG fan must have in his library, while waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI.

An equally excellent title in a franchise that helped to genesis of the single-player FPS genre, id Software's latest baby, DOOM Eternal, is a true satanic ode to demon slaying.

With nervous and brutal gameplay reinventing the codes of old-school FPS, sumptuous and gloriously optimized graphics, and finally a demonic soundtrack, camped by the now iconic Mick Gordon, the new adventure of the DOOM Slayer is a pleasure at all times.

In addition to an already substantial and particularly challenging main adventure in the higher difficulties, a two-part DLC (sold separately) has come to spice up and spice up the experience even more.

A title that appeals to strong hearts, addicted to adrenaline and speed, and undoubtedly one of the best FPS of recent years.

Fallout New Vegas at -50% (4,99 euros instead of 9,99 euros)

The Fallout franchise has had a journey as post-apocalyptic as the universe it portrays. Two first episodes in cult isometric view by Black Isle Studios (later Obsidian Etertainment) initially elevated this franchise to excellence. Then acquired by Bethesda and turning to the open world in the first and third person, it has had its ups and downs.

In 2010, veterans of Black Isle Studios grouped within Obsidian Entertainment took over the reins of their franchise and offered us one of the best episodes of the series to date: Fallout New Vegas.

If this title displays dated graphics even at the time of its release, that does not detract from the fact that it comes closest to the original material, with a story and a universe written by a master hand.

The experience was then filled with numerous DLCs (sold separately) and, like Skyrim, a community of passionate modders came to correct the few shortcomings of one of the best post-apocalyptic RPGs of recent years, even add new adventures even more ambitious than some original DLC.

In 2012, the Spanish studio Arkane created a surprise with the first Dishonored: an action/infiltration game combining occult and steampunk powers in a darkly fascinating universe. Four years later, he drove the blade even deeper with Dishonored 2.

Taking up the codes of its elder by perfecting them, Dishonored 2 also had the audacity to offer us two different characters, thus coming to densify an already extremely complete gameplay. Total freedom is the watchword of Dishonored: from a resolutely discreet and pacifist journey to an adventure drowned in blood, the choice belonged to the player and to him alone.

Beyond a gameplay mastered in all respects and a superb plastic for the time, Dishonored 2 also gave us a serious lesson in level design, with some truly mind-blowing levels in terms of construction.

A true masterpiece not to be missed under any circumstances. Beware of the Outsider though. He doesn't want you well.

To conclude this selection, another equally excellent title from Arkane Studios: Prey, released in 2017. Using the codes of excellent franchises like System Shock and BioShock, this new Arkane franchise took us on a journey as dark as it was delicious to the first person.

The character we embody is the key subject of an experiment on the Talos-I station to alter humanity forever. While life in space seems to go on as normal at first, a strange alien presence will soon wreak havoc on the station. It will thus be possible to cover it from top to bottom and even to take trips in zero gravity, just as confusing as they are well transcribed.

After a main adventure with a delicious atmosphere, emergent gameplay offering great freedom and a story as cryptic as it is fascinating, Prey has received a DLC (sold separately) offering us a renewed experience at every moment: Mooncrash. Inspired by the canons of the rogue-like genre, it offers us to embody several different characters in procedural environments.

An exceptional title in all respects, which BioShock fans should particularly love. Look twice before grabbing a cup of coffee, though. We never know.
