Steam Deck: Xbox Game Pass should work well on the console

This was the unexpected announcement of this busy week in video game news. Valve introduced its own hybrid console named Steam Deck. And it could well reserve some of the most interesting features for us.

Beneath its Nintendo Switch look, the Steam Deck is actually a real pocket PC. Indeed, it can connect to any screen thanks to a docking station. You should also know that this machine runs on the latest version of SteamOS (which is based on Linux), which allows the player to access his Steam library as well as all the features of the latter. But that's not all…

The Game Pass in portable mode?

As reported by Video Games Chronicles, Valve has insisted that its Steam Deck is a computer on which it is possible to install any software. Separately, IGN has confirmed that a user will be able to freely install Windows and access operating system features, such as the Microsoft Store. Therefore, the player should be able to launch the Xbox Game Pass application and/or launch the service via a web browser without any difficulty.

This is great news for Game Pass subscribers, who will enjoy their Steam and Xbox games on one device. Anyway, the Steam Deck will be launched at the end of the year from 419 euros. Pre-orders in Spain start this Friday at 19 p.m.
