While waiting for the Steam deck and the version PS5/Xbox Series X|S de The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red presented us with gameplay of its monumental Action-RPG on the Valve console.

Gameplay unfortunately not presented in YouTube video but via short videos on the official Twitter account of the video game franchise.

Opening a nomadic portal

After a Nintendo Switch version that clearly sinned in terms of performance, the good Geralt of Rivia is about to go through another portable portal on the Steam Deck. CD Projekt RED was able to get their hands on a copy and show us how the current version of the game runs on Valve's handheld console.

If the risky video compression of Twitter does not allow us to judge perfectly, it seems that the Steam Deck is doing quite well on The Witcher 3. Hard to say at what resolution the game is displayed or what graphics settings are used . The fluidity (at least at 30 constant fps) seems to be there, however, even in resource-intensive places.

To better illustrate the abilities of the beast on the Wild Hunt, CD Projekt RED presents us with different emblematic areas of the game, such as Novigrad or the Swamp of Fates. We're also treated to some combat footage to see how the controls fare in the heat of battle.

Luckiest White Wolf fans will be able to find out for themselves by December, when the Steam Deck is due…provided they've been quick as cash on pre-orders.
