First of all, it is a screen lock feature that has been added to the portable console. Now, Steam Deck users are able to enable a lock screen and apply a PIN to it. This can be configured at startup, when the system resumes or when switching to desktop mode.

In an effort to always improve the user experience, the Steam Deck has a window system that allows, by simply pressing the Steam button, quick access to the various active windows, whether within a game or an application. A feature that should undoubtedly prove to be very practical.

Among the novelties added, we also find some changes on the side of the keyboards. In addition to having implemented a total of 21 languages ​​(more will come later), Valve now allows the possibility of activating several keyboards simultaneously. At the same time, the studio updated the achievement pages to make them load faster and make them easier to navigate.

Finally, among the significant new features of this update, there is of course support for the fTPM standard in order to allow the installation of Windows 11 on your Steam Deck.
