The next expansion of Star Wars: The Old Republic, Legacy of the Sith, will not be released on December 14 as planned. BioWare has seen fit to postpone its launch in order to refine it.

The most ambitious expansion of the MMO, which is about to celebrate its tenth anniversary, is now expected for February 15, 2022.

The test server will reopen

On the game's official website, project director Keith Kanneg justifies the postponement: "Legacy of the Sith is a project that the team has been working hard on for some time, but as we get closer to launch, it's clear that we need a little more time. We are therefore focused on further testing on the many areas that we have changed throughout the game to give you the experience we want and the one you deserve.

Until February 15, subscribed players will be able to discover "the majority of the extension and its features" this week on the public test server. The narrative content will not be accessible, just to avoid spoilers.

Recall that Legacy of the Sith will take us through the aquatic planet Manaan as well as a mysterious Sith fortress on Elom in order to continue the hunt for Darth Malgus. On the content side, there will be a new raid, a new dungeon or even a new system of “combat styles” for further class customization.
