The doubt was still allowed, but Electronic Arts unfortunately swept away a Last Hope to see the announcement of a game Star Wars during EA Play, scheduled for the upcoming July 22.

The publisher indeed split yesterday evening with a message on Twitter announcing that no Star Wars game will be presented during its post E3 2021 conference.

Disturbance in the Force

“We won't be showcasing any new Star Wars games at EA Play on July 22…but look forward to celebrating with you next year our vision of a galaxy far, far away! “So informs us Electronic Arts. Fans of the vast universe launched by George Lucas will therefore have to be patient. Among the future projects stamped Star Wars, we can notably count on a sequel for the very solid Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

It should also be remembered that the exclusivity agreement between Disney and Electronic Arts on the Star Wars license has recently been somewhat abused, in particular with a title taken from this universe in Ubisoft's boxes, or even with a remake of Knights of the Old Republic provided by Aspyr, a separate studio from Electronic Arts.

Bioware will also be absentee, leaving few expected surprises for this July 22 EA Play, since we already know its main stars will be Battlefield 2042 and a resurrection of the Dead Space franchise. See you anyway in a week to see if the publisher can still surprise us.
