Star Ocean: The Divine Force is announced on video

This was undoubtedly the “surprise” of the State of Play, broadcast on October 27. Square Enix took advantage of the event orchestrated by PlayStation to lift the veil on Star Ocean: The Divine Force.

The Star Ocean saga celebrates its 2021th anniversary in 25. And to celebrate this quarter century, Square Enix has pulled out all the stops by unveiling the next installment in its action-RPG saga. A long trailer was therefore broadcast during the State of Play in order to lay the foundations for this new epic.

A magical journey, but in slow motion

Developed by tri-Ace, Star Ocean: The Divine Force will immerse us in a story that mixes science fiction and fantasy elements. Square Enix promises us that the scenario will adapt to our choices. Charismatic characters will be on the program, as will many side missions. The gameplay should be easy to understand and the fights very nervous. According to the publisher, it will be "the Star Ocean game with the fastest and most powerful action in the series".

Difficult to verify these assertions with the more than doubtful framerate of the trailer broadcast during the State of Play. Finally, players will also be free to fly above environments. See you in 2022 on PS5 and PS4 to discover this Star Ocean: The Divine Force, but also on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam), as confirmed by Square Enix a little later in the evening.
