This week, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 announced the presence of NFT in their game.

Protests from players on social media quickly convinced the teams to abandon this (very) bad idea…

No NFT finally for STALKER 2

Scheduled for April 22, STALKER 2 is undeniably one of the most anticipated titles of 2022. Indeed, this second opus arrived fifteen years after the original episode and recently created controversy by wanting to integrate NFTs. This initiative took place in line with the announcement of Ubisoft and Qwartz. However, faced with player dissatisfaction, the developers quickly backtracked.

Indeed, in January, the Ukrainian studio wanted to auction three blank 3D models in the form of NFTs. As you will have understood, the buyers would then have had the possibility of being integrated into the game. But this little metaverse side has not passed, according to the many very negative feedback from the community.

Also, via a tweet, the teams at the controls of STALKER 2 wanted to rectify the situation. “Based on the feedback we received, we have decided to cancel everything related to NFTs in STALKER 2”, can we read. That is clear.
