As if to remind that a third opus is still in the pipeline, Nintendo took advantage of its last online presentation to unveil gameplay from Splatoon 3.

A new video that focuses above all on the return of a cooperative mode introduced in Splatoon 2, which will return here with even larger creatures than before.

A release of Splatoon 3 this summer and the return of a co-op mode

Predictably, Splatoon 3 made a detour to the latest Nintendo Direct. The shooter has returned with a new trailer to present the cooperative mode “Salmon Run Next Wave”, directly taken from the second opus. Here, players will have to collect power eggs while facing waves of salmonids, funny creatures bigger than before. Obviously, some novelties are there, in particular the throwing of eggs, widely highlighted in the new video.

Still no release date, but the launch window for Splatoon 3 is becoming clearer. The game is now expected in the summer of 2022 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. However, we will have to wait for more information.

This third installment, announced during the Nintendo Direct in February 2021, has so far only revealed the character creation system, a few new environments and snippets of gameplay. The Japanese publisher should communicate more fully about its shooter as its release approaches. So be patient.
