After the Nintendo Indie World which took place this week, the Japanese manufacturer has other announcements to communicate to us on the side of independent games. In fact, the excellent Spelunky 1 and 2 are about to land on Switch.

This Wednesday, August 11, Nintendo held an event to list the next independent titles that will be released on its hybrid console. Apps like Eastward, Loop Hero or Axiom Verge 2 stood out on this occasion. But the Japanese multinational obviously didn't have enough of the 20 minutes of the show to fit all the announcements… The proof: two other games are in the headlines today.

A perfectly dug concept

Thus, Spelunky (2012) and its sequel (2020) will arrive on Nintendo Switch from August 26th. Rogue-like oriented with platform elements, the license allows the player to control a speleologist who goes deep into the depths in order to unearth treasures. Of course, many dangers await our very vulnerable avatar. Deadly traps and formidable enemies will not hesitate to send our poor explorer six feet underground (a shame).

A concept that hits home since the two Spelunkys were exceptionally well received by critics and players when they were launched. The Nintendo Switch is therefore preparing to receive these excellent games in just two weeks.
