Skate 4: very rudimentary gameplay on the run

Announced almost two years ago, Skate 4 is unfortunately not ready to be released on consoles and PC yet. Until now, no gameplay image had been unveiled by EA… And we now understand why!

Officialized during EA Play Live 2020 but unfortunately absent from the following edition, the fourth Skate game was extremely discreet. Last August, we just learned that the title would also be released on PC. But apart from this meager information, the developers had remained silent… Until a leak came to make some noise!

An excerpt that doesn't say much

Shared by journalist Jeff Grubb, the gameplay sequence in question is taken from a pre-alpha version of Skate 4. We should therefore not be surprised by the poverty of the decorations and the very rudimentary modeling of the character. We are extremely far from the final rendering. This video presents a map called Fun City, a city in which our avatar will probably be free to move.

This kind of prototype also emphasizes the fluidity of animations, an area that should be at the heart of developer concerns. That'll be it for this time, but Jeff Grubb promises to share new info about Skate 4 this week.
