For one week, from January 9 to January 16, the 2022 edition of theAwesome Games Done Quick (or AGDQ): a charity marathon that honors the practice of speedrunning. Among the 140 incredible performances achieved during the event, that of streamer Mitchriz will go down in history.

For the occasion, he had set himself a goal as spectacular as it was insane: to complete Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice while blindfolded!

A performance that leaves us wide-eyed

Since Demon's Souls, we know that games stamped FromSoftware - including the next, Elden Ring, is highly anticipated - can be difficult and demanding. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, released in March 2019 and voted video game of the same year, is no exception to the rule and gave a lot of players a hard time due to its sometimes very difficult segments and its titanic bosses. which seemed insurmountable at first sight.

Nevertheless, with a lot of self-sacrifice and training, it is possible to overcome the game. If this is already a feat in itself, the speedrunner Mitchriz wanted to push the feat even further by trying to complete the game with a huge constraint, namely blindfolded. The AGDQ 2022 was therefore the perfect opportunity for Mitchriz to repeat the experience because, yes, it was not his first attempt!

In July 2021, the player achieves this for the first time in the space of 5 hours. However, the latter broke his summer record last Sunday, finishing the game in just over 2 hours, 2 hours and 35 seconds to be precise!

This performance, which was all the more dazzling during the AGDQ, is the fruit of relentless speedrunning work: without visual cues, he trained by counting down the seconds in order to determine the right timing to perform his various shares: its performance can be seen above.
