After a launch in troubled waters three and a half years ago, Sea of Thieves masterfully turned the corner. So much so that the Rare title has become the most popular new license in history for an Xbox One game. And another record has just fallen.

During E3 2021, last June, the British studio surprised its world by announcing the arrival of the universe of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga in Sea of Thieves. Launched a few days later, this free update aimed to attract new players to the game's servers. And we have to admit that the bet paid off!

Thanks Jack!

In a statement published this week, Rare announces that Sea of Thieves reached 4,8 million active players during the month of June 2021. The last record was in June 2020 with no less than 3,3 million players. A great success which, as we previously indicated, is closely linked to the deployment of the A Pirate's Life update.

In July 2020, we learned that more than 15 million players had tried the Sea of Thieves experience since launch… A figure that must be much higher today. So the future looks bright for hackers from all walks of life.
