On the occasion of the latest State of Play, Housemarque lifted the veil on the first big expansion in destination to return. The Finnish studio offers us today a deeper insight into what awaits us in this DLC.
Presented in the form of a free update (3.0) for owners of the game, the Returnal: Ascension expansion will be deployed next week on PlayStation 5. Among the significant new features, we will mainly note the online co-op mode which will allow two players to help each other. This will be handy for overcoming a boss that is too difficult since when a player falls in battle, his comrade will be able to revive him.
The Towering Inferno
Update 3.0 will also bring a brand new game mode called Tower of Sisyphus. She is rightly in the spotlight in the long gameplay video released by PlayStation today (see above). Players will have to climb the floors of this tower while resisting waves of enemies. Alas, the ascent has no end and you will be condemned to perish sooner or later.
New enemies, objects and narrative elements will also be introduced in the Tower of Sisyphus. It's up to you to discover them while achieving the best possible score. Returnal: Ascension will arrive on March 22.
