Resident Evil Village: a demake recreates the Dimitrescu castle with Castlevania sauce

Waiting for the DLC to come on Resident evil village, a certain OcO had fun doing a demake of the game in an atmosphere Castlevania retro.

To do this, what better than Dimitrescu Castle at the start of the game, for many one of the best moments of the latest Resident Evil installment?

Lady Dimitrescu is also imposing in pixels

While Resident Evil 7 has exceeded 10 million copies sold, Resident Evil Village seems to be a solid success so far. A success notably carried by a certain Lady Dimitrescu, who has not failed to ignite the Web since her presentation. And his castle is no slouch either, considered by many to be the best segment in the game.

This is how OcO worked for two months to develop a 2D version of this castle by re-adapting it in the iconic style of another Japanese monument, Castlevania. Something to do with a castle, vampires and a charismatic boss, you see the parallel.

As in the cult action-platform franchise, Ethan can recover equipment and consumables by breaking elements of the decor. He must carve his way through the level by facing waves of enemies well known to Resident Evil Village, but pixelated in a very beautiful way, before arriving on an alternative boss and a final boss. We can therefore see the indescribable Duke in all his pixelated glory, as well as, of course, Lady Dimitrescu herself.

OcO therefore offers here a very successful mix of the iconic place of Resident Evil Village with an atmosphere and gameplay reminiscent of the no less iconic Castlevania franchise. If this demake turns out to be very short, it is in any case worth a look and can be downloaded for free via the dedicated itch.io page, cited in source below.
